all in a day's work

It's time to get ready for winter here at camp and Abishai has been ecstatic about the 'digger' Mike's been running. She loves throwing rocks in the big trenches he made to bury the water lines and climbing on the 'sand castles.'
We've also been walking the property looking for sticks to help clean up the yard for when dad comes by on the big lawn mower. We've got lots of piles and all different sizes of sticks!
And of course we need some good firewood to keep warm this fall. We have taken several trips to the woodpile with her trusty wagon for 'fire works' according to Abishai. She's a great helper with a good attitude but I know all she really wants is the marshmallows that will follow.

"my mander"

"I wanna hold it, I wanna hold it"

We brought our yellow spotted salamander home today. Daddy caught him up by the Saco cabin in a wooden box in the ground where he found several other salamanders hiding. I think he had had enough toddler time though is is much happier on his own.

changing of seasons

Fall has come here at MRO along with the need for some extra layers. This morning's temperature hovered around 30 and these cute pumpkin and strawberry hats from a friend came in handy. The leaves are beginning to change and soon the mountain and the surrounding lake will be ablaze with color. A cool breeze blows almost constant now and the smell of autumn is in the air. The girls are growing closer and already seem to be giggling over some little secret.

Keeping in Touch

Life has a way of passing us by and I don't want to look back someday and wonder why I didn't share all those little special moments with you. I hope this will help us remember.
